rare 1937 MICKEY MOUSE GLOBETROTTERS MAP with all 24 Cards
large approx. 26.5" by 20" in size
offered by different bread companies around the country
this one was from Freihofer's
"buy the bread with the Mickey Mouse band" in order to play a "race 'round the world" game between Mickey and the Big Bad Wolf.
Throughout the map, Mickey and the Big Bad Wolf are depicted causing region-specific mischief and mayhem: in between El Paso and Chicago, Mickey is a cowboy; the Big Bad Wolf gets the bull's horns in Spain; Mickey rides a camel and an elephant in Africa; the Big Bad Wolf is chased across India by a king cobra; Mickey bounces after a kangaroo on spring in Australia.
Vignettes of various characters surround the map, including Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy (early version known as Dippy the Goof).
There are panels across the top and bottom where Globe Trotters are instructed to paste the full color premium card issued with the bread loaves
On reverse, Mickey takes a tour of the various breads of the world.
this one has the complete set of 24 cards pasted in place
each card measures approx. 2" by 3.25"
the colors are very bright and vivid
there is one small separation on fold - see photo
there is a separation in upper left edge thru Mickey's head
there is minor damage in each corner with the most damage and old piece of scotch tape in upper right
fold creases - as issued
this is one of the nicer examples I have seen
